This license applies to WhisperKB software, installers, launchers,
icons, and documentation authored for this project. Third-party
software, runtime libraries, model files, and other external materials
are governed by their own licenses. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt for the
notices known at release time.

1. Permission

You may:

- Install and use official WhisperKB releases for personal,
  educational, accessibility, evaluation, and internal productivity use.
- Make backup copies of official WhisperKB installers for your own use.
- Share unmodified official WhisperKB release installers, provided that
  all copyright, license, and third-party notice files remain intact and
  no fee is charged for WhisperKB itself.

2. Restrictions

You may not, without prior written permission from the copyright holder:

- Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially redistribute WhisperKB.
- Offer WhisperKB as a hosted service or include it in a paid product,
  managed service, bundle, or commercial distribution.
- Redistribute modified builds or modified installers.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the
  internal design of WhisperKB except where that restriction is
  prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove, obscure, or alter copyright, license, attribution, or
  third-party notice files.
- Use the WhisperKB name, icon, branding, or author identity to imply
  endorsement of an unrelated product or modified build.
- Present WhisperKB, or a derivative of WhisperKB, as your own original
  work.

3. Third-party components and model files

WhisperKB may download or bundle third-party components, including
speech recognition model files and native runtime binaries. Those
materials are not relicensed by this document. Your use of those
materials is subject to their respective upstream licenses and terms.

4. Privacy and user responsibility

WhisperKB is designed to run speech transcription locally, but it can
download model files from third-party hosts when requested by the user
or installer. Users are responsible for the audio they process, the
transcribed text they paste into other applications, and compliance with
any workplace, accessibility, privacy, confidentiality, or recording
rules that apply to them.

5. Support and maintenance

WhisperKB is maintained by an individual in limited time. No support,
maintenance, compatibility, feature delivery, security update, or
release schedule is promised.

6. Warranty disclaimer

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF
ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE,
NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, ACCESSIBILITY, OR
UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER AND
CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGE, LOSS, LIABILITY,
BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, ACCESSIBILITY FAILURE,
TRANSCRIPTION ERROR, OR OTHER CONSEQUENCE ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO
WHISPERKB OR THIS LICENSE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY,
OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
